Ministry's Rule Book regarding the transport of hazardous substances, effective today, are a step forward in Croatia's commitment to being a tourist destination and preserving the environment, Minister Sime Lucin said in parliament on Wednesday. Commenting on reactions to the changes, which permit the transport of oil and oil products only by pipeline, rail, sea and river, Lucin said they had been politicised due to the interests of some financial groups. More than 70 ecological incidents occurred in the last three years, and an Interior Ministry analysis has shown the number of incidents on roads not used by tanks and trailer trucks was much smaller, said the minister.
