JUTARNJI LIST: GRANIC TO GIVE GUARANTEE FOR GENERAL ADEMI IN HAGUE

ZAGREB, Jan 11 (Hina) - Croatian daily 'Jutarnji List' in Saturday's issue says Premier Ivica Racan has confirmed the First Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic, who is also the chairman of the council for cooperation with the UN war crimes tribunal (ICTY), would appear as a government representative in a hearing before the ICTY Trial Chamber to confirm the offered guarantees for a temporary release of general Rahim Ademi. "If necessary, Deputy Prime Minister Granic will personally go to The Hague and, on behalf of the Croatian government, give a verbal guarantee for General Rahim Ademi so that he be released until the beginning of the trial", Racan told 'Jutarnji List'. Ademi's defence attorneys suggested that a government representative appear before the ICTY Trial Chamber.
