BELGRADE DAILY OVER CLAIM ABOUT VUKOVAR BELGRADE, Dec 22 (Hina) - A former president of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Dobrica Cosic, has sued the 'DEN GRAF' company, the founder of the Belgrade daily Danas, and the daily's
editor-in-chief Grujica Spasovic for an article accusing Cosic of being one of the officials who ordered attacks on the eastern Croatian town of Vukovar. The daily said in a statement on Saturday Cosic was demanding damages amounting to some DM200,000. He states in the lawsuit that he had been elected President on June 15, 1992 and that the battle of Vukovar took place in the autumn of 1991. Shortly after the disputable article was published, the daily ran Cosic's extensive denial, in which he stated that he did not hold any political posts at the time the battle of Vukovar was taking place.(hina) rml
