MOSTAR/SARAJEVO, Dec 31 (Hina) - The European Union Police Mission
(EUPM) in Bosnia-Herzegovina last week received five suspicious
letters which have been sent to Zagreb for analysis, EUPM spokesman
Kilian Wahl said on Tuesday.#L#
The letters arrived on Friday and were addressed to the Sarajevo-based
EUPM commissioner Sven Frederiksen, two of his deputies and another
two senior Mission officials, Wahl told reporters in Sarajevo.
He said that some seasonal cards, which were printed by the same
company, had tiny glowing crystals on them which might have dropped
off the cards during delivery. Wahl did not disclose any other details
or which company printed the cards.
He dismissed the possibility that someone from the EUPM might have
touched the contents of the letters as alleged by Bosnian press on
Tuesday. He said the letters had been sent to Zagreb for forensic
analysis, and that the matter would be investigated by the Bosnian
state prosecutor's office.
