At its closed session, the Croatian government decided that the
suspension of the visa regime, which was to expire on December 31, be
prolonged for another month until January 31, 2004.
The government said that the month-long extension was due to the
forthcoming Christmas and New Year's holidays.
The original decision about the suspension of the visa regime was
adopted in June. It was decided that the application of the visa
regime would depend on the solving of open issues between the two
countries and Croatia's commitments towards the EU visa policy.
