ZAGREB, Dec 11 (Hina) - The Action of Social Democrats of Croatia (ASH) on Thursday laid a wreath at the grave of Ante Miko Tripalo, the ASH party's founder and first president, marking the eighth anniversary of his death.

The ASH current president, Zlatko Klaric, said at the wreath-laying
ceremony that Tripalo was a politician who had spared no effort in
democratisation of Croatian society.
Ante Miko Tripalo was born on 16 November 1926 in the southern town
of Sinj and died on 11 December 1995 in Zagreb.
During the Second World War, he fought in the ranks of anti-fascist
soldiers and was a close associate of the Partisans' leader, Josip
Broz Tito.
He was one of the key protagonists in the Croatian national movement
'Spring 1971'. He died as an ASH member of parliament.
