BELGRADE, Dec 2 (Hina) - Serbia's Justice Minister Vladan Batic has said the accounts of persons and companies close to former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic in Cypriot banks, in which there is US$56 million, were frozen during the Hague tribunal's investigation into financial wrongdoing under Milosevic's rule.
BELGRADE, Dec 2 (Hina) - Serbia's Justice Minister Vladan Batic has said the accounts of persons and companies close to former Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic in Cypriot banks, in which there is US$56 million, were frozen during the Hague tribunal's investigation into financial wrongdoing under Milosevic's rule. #L# "That money, believed to have been acquired illegally, belongs to Serbia and has to be returned to it," he told Politika of Tuesday. During a recent visit to The Hague, where Milosevic is on trial for war crimes, representatives of Serbia's Justice Ministry and Prosecutor's Office were handed documentation on Milosevic's financial wrongdoing, including the scandal surrounding the sale of Telecom Serbia, Batic said.
