This has been the largest amount of the heroin seized by the
Croatian authorities since Croatia gained the independence.
The narcotic was found in a car with Austrian licence plates driven
by a national of Serbia-Montenegro of Albanian descent.
The 25-year-old driver, with criminal records abroad, was taken to
a police station in Vukovar, Tomurad said.
One gram of heroin is worth some 50 euro on the black market, he
said, adding that the drug was to be sold on Western markets.
