HDZ MP DEPLORES STATEMENTS BY IDS OFFICIAL

PULA, Nov 28 (Hina) - Commenting on statements by Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS) MP Damir Kajin, who said that the far- right had come to power in Croatia, Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) MP Nevio Setic said in Buzet on Friday Kajin's statements were uncivilised and undemocratic and did not contribute to the development of good relations in Istria. #L# The IDS is ignoring the democratic right and answer of Croatian citizens expressed at the recent parliamentary elections, Setic said at a news conference. He added that some politicians found it difficult to accept going into opposition. Setic also claimed that the IDS, lacking arguments and a good platform, was again taking out of mothballs the political conflict between Istria and the government in Zagreb. The HDZ in Istria will resolutely prevent artificial conflicts between Istria and Zagreb, he said. The new government in Croatia will re-examine some projects launched by the IDS under an agreement with the former coalition government and provide the public in Istria with an insight into those projects and enable it to have some benefit from them if possible, Setic said.
