ZAGREB, Nov 27 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic said on Thursday he felt it was possible to reach an agreement on a good government, and dismissed speculation about new elections. #L# "I see no reason to call new elections. I think it's possible to reach an agreement on a good government," he told reporters who asked him to comment on speculation that he would call new elections if negotiations on the formation of the new government took too long. "Contacts have been made, we're holding talks, I'm following how consultations are progressing. I feel they are a little too slow, but they are going nevertheless," he said. The President reiterated that he had held talks with Croatian Democratic Union leader Ivo Sanader, current Prime Minister Ivica Racan (Social Democrats), and Croatian People's Party leader Vesna Pusic. Mesic spoke to the media at Opera Hotel, at the First Croatian Congress of Preventive Medicine and Health Advancement. (hina) ha sb
