BEING ANTI-CROATIAN IS WORST FORM OF NATIONALISM - BUDISA

SIBENIK, Oct 29 (Hina) - The president of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS), Drazen Budisa, said on Wednesday Croatian People's Party (HNS) leader Vesna Pusic's claim that a change of the ruling structure would be tantamount to treason was without precedent since the beginning of pluralism in Croatia.
#L# "Pusic is bringing into question the political will of the majority, so she speaks about her own nation with contempt. The worst of all forms of nationalism is being anti-Croatian," Budisa said at a pre-election rally of the HSLS-Democratic Centre (DC) coalition in the coastal town of Sibenik. Budisa said he would request the government and HNS' partners in the ruling coalition to define their stance on Pusic's statement. DC president Mate Granic said the HSLS-DC coalition would report Pusic to the National Election Commission. Also at the rally, Josko Kontic of the HSLS slammed the government's decision of today not to give the lawyers of Ante Gotovina, the fugitive general wanted by the Hague war crimes tribunal, access to documents. He said that by doing so, the government was breaching a decision reached by parliament. Granic went on to say that upon coming into power, the first step of the HSLS-DC coalition would be to change the "disgraceful" law on the conflict of interest. He added the coalition would not defer to international financial institutions. Budisa said the HSLS had realised in time that the promises the incumbent coalition made before coming into power would not be kept, which was why it left the coalition, showing that it was not interested in power but in platforms and honouring principles in politics.
