refuted allegations by Radimir Cacic that it published on its web
pages that it would ban Serbs from returning to Croatia and
confiscate their property. #L#
Cacic, a leader of the Croatian People's Party (HNS), was quoted by
a daily on Wednesday as saying that it was possible to set up a
coalition between the left bloc and the HDZ (Croatian Democratic
Union) but that "a coalition which would include Djapic's HSP is out
of question".
He also asserted that the HSP announced on its web pages that it
would ban Serbs from returning to Croatia and confiscate their
property.
According to a press release issued by the HSP, this party said that
it had never published anything like that on its web pages.
The press release reads that the HSP "is today a modern, democratic
and neo-conservative party" based on the principles of the Homeland
Defence War.
The HSP accused Cacic of insinuating that the HSP is not acceptable
to the European Union, and said that the purpose of attacks by
"those who lost the elections" was to obstruct the creation of a
coalition between the HSP and the HDZ, and to return to power in an
undemocratic way and against the will of the Croatian people.
