ZAGREB, Nov 24 (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) has won an average 35 percent of the vote in 11 constituencies at Sunday's parliamentary election, according to the State Electoral Commission's unofficial results at 1500
hours on Monday.

The HDZ's results range from nearly 49 percent in constituency no.
9, which covers Lika-Senj, Zadar, Sibenik-Knin counties and
northern Split-Dalmatia County, to 18.53 percent -- the party's
poorest placing -- in constituency no. 8, which covers Istria
County and western Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, where the HDZ
nonetheless ranked second.
In constituency no. 11, where emigrants voted, the HDZ has won 56.61
percent of the vote.
The second strongest party are the Social Democrats (SDP), which
has won an average 23 percent in 10 constituencies.
The SDP fared the best in coalition with the Istrian Democratic
Assembly (IDS) in constituency no. 8, where they have won 40.75
percent of the vote. The SDP fared the poorest in constituency no.
9, where it ran independently, winning 15.26 percent of the vote.
The Croatian People's Party (HNS) has won an average 7.37 percent of
the vote in eight of 10 constituencies.
The Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) has won an average 6.57 percent of
the vote in eight of 10 constituencies.
The Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) has won an average six percent of
the vote in eight constituencies.
The coalition of the Social Liberals (HSLS) and the Democratic
Centre (DC) has crossed the electoral threshold, winning an average
5.68 percent of the vote, in constituencies nos. 2, 3, and 5 --
Pozega-Slavonia, Brod-Posavina, and Vukovar-Srijem counties.
The Croatian Party of Pensioners (HSU) has passed the threshold in
constituencies nos. 3, 4, and 8, faring the best in no. 3, where they
have won 6.14 percent of the vote.
The Croatian Democratic Peasant Party (HDSS), whose slates were
headed by Ivo Loncar, will also enter parliament after winning 5.59
percent of the vote in constituency no. 3.
