According to a statement signed by HND president Dragutin Lucic,
the physical assault against Denis Kuljis is yet another blow to
democracy, reporters and freedom of expression in Croatia.
Kuljis, a journalist of the Croatian weekly 'Globus', was attacked
on Thursday evening by two unidentified young men while he was
entering the building in downtown Zagreb where he lives. He
sustained light injuries, including bruises on the head and back,
but he refused medical help, the police told Hina later in the
evening. The motive of the attack is still unknown, and the police
are looking for the attackers.
