the Armed Forces who are running in parliamentary elections. #L#
The Law on Service in the Armed Forces stipulates that military
officers are not allowed to be members of political parties, or run
for citizens' representative bodies, units of local and regional
self-government, and parliament.
Vukic told a news conference the law was not adjusted to European
Union legislation "because it seriously violates the human rights
of those employed in the (Armed Forces)".
"In European democracies anyone may stand as a candidate and, if
elected, may choose between being an active serviceman or a
politician," Vukic said.
