"There's no reason to surrender. I'm a soldier. It says in our rule
book that a soldier never surrenders...I can be captured, but I
can't surrender," Pavkovic said on Palma Plus television,
according to Tanjug news agency on Sunday.
The general also said that he had fought with his entire being to
prevent crimes from being committed in Kosovo and that those crimes
were not committed by the army.
Pavkovic commanded the Yugoslav Army's Third Corps. He and three
other military and police officials have recently been indicted for
war crimes in Kosovo.
