Addressing the gathering, Mesic called on Swedish business people to invest in the Croatian economy, particularly in the industry and the services sector. He also said it was necessary to increase the trade between the two countries from the present US$153 million to the 1994 level when it totalled $245 million. The Croatian president said his country was removing administrative obstacles to fresh investment, adding that there were also possibilities of strengthening economic cooperation in the areas of information technology, shipbuilding, tourism, and metal and wood-processing industries.
