Kovacevic (aged 42) has been placed in the custody of the Hague
tribunal, the tribunal's spokesman Jim Landale said.
Kovacevic was the last accused from an indictment for crimes in
Dubrovnik who was on the run. He was arrested by Serbian police in a
village south-east of Belgrade last month.
He is charged with war crimes, killings, torture, cruel treatment,
and deliberate destruction of historical monuments.
Kovacevic's attorney Borivoj Borovic has said that Kovacevic could
make his initial appearance before the tribunal on Monday.
Retired Yugoslav Army rear-admiral Miodrag Jokic, who is on the
same indictment as Kovacevic, pleaded guilty in August to charges
of attacks on civilians, killings, and destruction of historical
buildings during the 1991 shelling of the old part of Dubrovnik.
Retired lieutenant-general Pavle Strugar surrendered to the
tribunal and was released pending trial, while charges against
Yugoslav Navy captain Milan Zec were dropped.
