BANJA LUKA, Nov 1 (Hina) - Catholics in the area of Banja Luka,
north-western Bosnia-Herzegovina, marked All Saints' Day with
Masses and visits to cemeteries. #L#
The central Mass was said at the St. Marco cemetery in Banja Luka by
the local bishop Franjo Komarica.
Bishop Komarica told Hina that on the occasion of this year's All
Saints and All Souls' Days the largest number of Catholics had
gathered since 1995 (when an exodus of non-Serbs, including
Catholics, occurred).
The gathering of so many Catholics, most of whom arrived from
abroad, was ascribed by the dignitary Komarica to effects of this
summer's visit of Pope John Paul II to Banja Luka.
Authorities of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina agreed to let people
cross the two countries' joint border showing only identity cards,
over the weekend, namely during All Saints and All Souls' Days. The
pertinent decree will be in force until noon on Monday (3 Nov.).
