Investigators have to collect data which will either confirm or
refute suspicion that at the start of this year, Rupel abused office
when he intended to take more than 35,000 euros of budgetary funds
for a diplomatic academy, which was to be established in the coastal
town of Portoroz and in which he should have been a lecturer.
Last week the foreign minister accused the Slovene political lobby
connected with left parties and a former Slovene president, Milan
Kucan, of launching a media campaign against him in order to oust
him from the current authorities.
