General Agim Qeku, and previous arrests of representatives of
Kosovo institutions and its citizens. #L#
The assembly adopted a special declaration declaring null and void
all arrest warrants and court rulings concerning citizens of Kosovo
that have been issued by Serbian institutions.
The declaration, which was not supported by Serb deputies, called
on international institutions, including Interpol and Europol, not
to recognise warrants issued by Serbia for the arrest of Kosovo
citizens, saying that Kosovo was under UN jurisdiction and had its
own democratic institutions.
The assembly protested against the actions of Slovene authorities,
who arrested Qeku at Ljubljana airport on Wednesday on a warrant
issued by the Interpol office in Serbia and Montenegro. He was
released early on Thursday following the intervention of the UN
administrator of Kosovo.
