One of the basic aims of the INCD is to adopt a convention on
cultural diversity and promote a more equal and fairer exchange of
cultural goods in the conditions of globalisation and the speedy
liberalisation of the world trade. As a result, a draft convention
has become a serious subject matter of discussions held at the
UNESCO.
