Defenders of Vukovar - 12 Years After" was held at Vukovar's general
hospital on Saturday to mark 19 October 1991, when 112 wounded were
evacuated from the hospital in a humanitarian convoy. #L#
The hospital's current and war-time manager, Dr. Vesna Bosanac,
said among other things that 1,624 people were killed in the Serb
aggression on and occupation of eastern Croatia's Vukovar. The
hospital possesses data that 1,219 people were wounded, including
533 civilians, 30 children, 550 soldiers, and 106 police, she
said.
