Speaking at a press conference in the northern Adriatic city of
Rijeka, Ivanis said that the government had taken on the commitment
to make it possible for minorities to vote for both minority and
party slates.
He added that the position of his party was that special minority
representatives were not necessary in modern civic societies, but
that it was necessary to ensure positive electoral discrimination
during the next two or three terms of parliament in Croatia.
