of European Union member-states on Monday called on countries in the area of the former Yugoslavia to strengthen cooperation with the Hague-based UN war crimes tribunal (ICTY), and announced possible additional measures to be taken against persons who were harbouring fugitive indictees. "The Council supported the unambiguous message by UN Security Council Resolution 1503 ... on the need to improve and intensify cooperation with the ICTY - in particular efforts to bring (Radovan) Karadzic, (Ratko) Mladic and (Ante) Gotovina to the ICTY," reads a section of conclusions which the EU ministerial council adopted yesterday in Brussels.
