SARAJEVO, Sept 30 (Hina) - U.S. General Virgil Packett will take over the command of the NATO-led Stabilisation Force (SFOR) in Bosnia-Herzegovina on 2 October, SFOR spokesman Dave Sullivan said in Sarajevo on Tuesday.

The change is a part of a regular annual rotation. Major-General
Packett has served as assistant chief-of staff of NATO's Regional
Headquarters Allied Forces Southern Europe (AFSOUTH).
He will replace Lieutenant General William Ward who has held the
post in Bosnia for the past 12 months. Gen. Ward has been appointed
new deputy commander of the U.S. forces in Europe.
