ZAGREB, Sept 29 (Hina) - Officials of the Croatian Bloc and the Croatian True Revival, and the city branch of the Croatian Democratic Union party on Monday paid separate visits to unassigned policemen, who have been protesting in front of the government building in downtown Zagreb for 550 days. #L# During the visits, which were organised on the occasion of Police Day and St. Michael's Day, the party officials extended their best wishes to the protesters and supported what they said were their just efforts to have their status resolved. The unassigned policemen last week again requested the government and the interior ministry to explain to them the criteria under which they were dismissed and to define their status. They also urged parliamentary deputies to initiate a debate on the matter at the last session of the current parliament. Since their dismissal more than a year and a half ago, some 30 of around 600 unassigned and sacked policemen have been protesting in turns in the chapel of St. Mark's Church near the government building.
