The ICTY (International Criminal Tribunal for the former
Yugoslavia) is to provide Serbia's judiciary with documents
pointing out Slobodan Milosevic's financial wrongdoing, Batic
announced.
Del Ponte said that Milosevic's accomplice in these dealings was
the leader of the Yugoslav Left and his wife, Mirjana Markovic.
The sale of Serbia's Telekom to an Italian company was the focal
point of financial murky dealings during the Milosevic regime
however, there were other cases of embezzlement, Batic said.
The tribunal, which is trying Milosevic for war crimes and genocide
in Croatia, Kosovo and Bosnia-Herzegovina, possesses 50,000 pages
of documents, bank statements and other financial reports that
confirm that the former regime in Serbia and Yugoslavia committed
unheard-of financial crimes, Batic said.
