Arlovic said that even though the draft of the European
Constitution mentioned supervision over secret services,
parliaments' role in the control of secret services should be
defined more precisely with respect to the protection of human
rights.
The Lago Maggiore forum addresses the protection of human rights
and combating terrorism.
"Everyone I have met on the margins of this forum has supported
Croatia's accession to the EU and NATO," Arlovic said. His
interlocutors included Pierferdinando Casini, president of
Italy's House of Representatives, and Marcel Glesener, president
of the WEU Assembly.
