PULA, Sept 13 (Hina) - A delegation of the Irish parliament's House of Representatives led by its president Rory O'Hanlon attended in Pula on Saturday the unveiling of a statue of Irish literary great James Joyce. #L# The statue -- the work of Mato Cvrljak of Labin -- was placed in Pula's Portarata square, where Joyce lived and worked for two years. O'Hanlon said today's event contributed to advancing the good Croatia-Ireland relations, while Istria County prefect Ivan Jakovcic said Joyce was a bridge between the Croatian and Irish peoples. The Irish delegation, in Croatia since Friday, held talks with Istria County officials, discussing ways of intensifying economic cooperation. Jakovcic said Istria's primary interests were industrial development in free zones and golf tourism. O'Hanlon said Ireland was willing to share its experience in those two branches. (hina) ha
