The newspaper backs its claim with a meeting in Rome yesterday
between Italy's under-secretary for fishing Paolo Scarpa Bonazza
Buora and Slovenia's government representative Joze Sterle.
Il Piccolo says the two officials stressed the Adriatic's resources
should be preserved for all countries with access to this sea, and
recommended a multilateral approach and European Union standards
in the protection of fishing.
Italian agency Ansa released a similar item yesterday under the
headline "Italy and Slovenia Say 'No' to Croatia With Regard to the
Proclamation of an Exclusive Economic Zone".
