"Not one government ever keeps all pre-election promises. I'm aware
of the fact that we haven't fulfilled all our promises, or even what
we planned," Tomcic said in Tordinci, where he attended the opening
of a school, adding that the constituents would know best how to
evaluate whether what the incumbent government had done was enough
or if they wanted a new one.
Tomcic ruled out of the possibility of the HSS forming any pre-
election coalition. He said coalitions were possible after
elections but added that if necessary, the HSS was willing to join
the opposition.
Commenting on strained relations with neighbouring Slovenia due to
Croatia's intention to proclaim an economic zone in the Adriatic,
Tomcic said Croatia was entitled to do so. "I think this time the
Slovenes have gone too far with their statements and got carried
away with some sort of fixed idea that they can dictate what Croatia
should do."
Asked about his opinion of a bill on the prevention of conflicts of
interest in the performance of public duties given that he is the
co-owner of one company, Tomcic confirmed that he holds a 22-
percent interest in one company. "If anyone tells me that's
prohibited, I'll immediately stop being a politician or a co-owner.
I'm not an entrepreneur, only a co-owner, and politics is my only
business."
