Holkeri did not present his plan for the start of talks between
Pristina and Belgrade, so more will be known about future dialogue
after a meeting of the Contact Group due to take place in New York on
September 23 and 24.
Kosovo president Ibrahim Rugova told reporters that the talks
focused on the need for closer cooperation between Kosovo
institutions and UNMIK, and the transfer of powers to Kosovo
institutions. He added that Holkeri informed the representatives
of Kosovo about possible talks with Belgrade.
Kosovo premier Bajram Rexhepi said that the Kosovo representatives
presented their proposals and requests and that Holkeri would
submit them to the Contact Group.
Rexhepi stressed the need for the transfer of powers to Kosovo
institutions through political consensus.
