Dissatisfied with the latest developments in Kosovo and its
government's achievements, the Movement has drafted a resolution
for lasting peace in the region, the integration and development of
Kosovo, senior party official Demir Reshiti told a news
conference.
The draft, which is in keeping with the will of Albania and Kosovo
citizens, will be put to parliament and the Movement seeks that
citizens endorse it by signing the petition, he said.
A similar motion appeared before the Kosovo parliament late last
year but was rejected, which is why the Movement decided to directly
contact citizens.
According to Reshiti, the latest draft resolution met with
understanding and endorsement among many politicians in Kosovo,
Albania, and Macedonia.
The Kosovo People's Movement hopes the resolution will result in
parliament's proclaiming independence for Kosovo. The Kosovo
parliament would then put a proposal to Albania's parliament for
the creation of the Kosovo-Albania Union, the party said, adding
the union would help the two countries' European integration.
