The meeting, scheduled to take place in Ljubljana on September 16,
will involve the heads of the legal affairs departments of the
foreign ministries of the two countries.
The ministry said in a statement that the talks might serve as a
basis for the two countries to determine their joint position ahead
of a European conference on fisheries in the Mediterranean, due to
take place in Venice in November.
It said this would be "the first bilateral meeting" at which Croatia
would present its views on expanding its jurisdiction in the
Adriatic, and added that these issues were "complex and
demanding".
The Croatian government launched the initiative on September 5 to
discuss the issue of an economic zone in the Adriatic, according to
the statement.
