ZAGREB, Sept 10 (Hina) - Leaders of Croatia's trade union federations on Wednesday held talks with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) about Croatia's foreign debt, the possibilities of repayments and the
unfavourable payment balance, the president of the Independent Croatian Unions (NHS), Kresimir Sever, said.

federations on Wednesday held talks with representatives of the
International Monetary Fund (IMF) about Croatia's foreign debt,
the possibilities of repayments and the unfavourable payment
balance, the president of the Independent Croatian Unions (NHS),
Kresimir Sever, said. #L#
According to Sever, the head of the IMF mission to Croatia, Hans
Flickenschield told the unionists that the mission would not
propose to the Croatian government measures to remove these
difficulties because a new "stand by" agreement was not expected to
be concluded with Croatia.
Sever told Hina on the phone that Flickenschield said that the
difficulties in the repayment of the foreign debt would not exist if
the Government decreased a deficit from the current 4.6 to 3.8% of
the budget and the debt's share in the GDP.
