firefighting department said on Saturday.

Firefighters, assisted by one canadair, are still battling against
a fire which broke out at Skradin yesterday afternoon, posing a
direct threat to local settlements.
Drazen Slavica, commander of Sibenik's firefighting department,
has said that 400 firefighters and Croatian Army members are on the
ground.
County prefect Duje Stancic last night addressed the public via
radio due to the introduction of a state of emergency, accusing the
state authorities of lack of firefighting equipment.
Assisted by last night's rain, firefighters put out a big fire which
broke out yesterday in the area of Otocac in Lika-Senj County. An
area covered by deciduous and coniferous forest was burned down in
the fire, which also threatened the national park of Plitvicka
jezera.
One fire is still active on a mine-infested area in Lika-Senj
County, which is hampering efforts to put it out.
Local firefighters are still battling with a fire which broke out in
the area of Donji Lapac yesterday.
