ZAGREB, Aug 26 (Hina) - Captains Mladen Prebezec and Marijana Plesa Cadonic on Tuesday left Zagreb to join the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP), which monitors the separation line between
Pakistani and Indian armies in the Kashmir region.

Cadonic on Tuesday left Zagreb to join the United Nations Military
Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP), which monitors the
separation line between Pakistani and Indian armies in the Kashmir

During their year-long mission, the two captains and two other
Croatian officers, and some 50 officers from different countries,
will serve as unarmed military observers. Captain Marijana Plesa
Cadonic is the first woman officer in the UNMOGIP and the first
woman from the Croatian Armed Forces to take part in a UN military
mission as an unarmed military observer.
Since 1999 Croatian officers have participated in UN missions as
unarmed military observers in Sierra Leone, Ethiopia and Eritrea,
India and Pakistan, and the Western Sahara.
