Dole camp at Zivogosce near Makarska was contained. Most tourists have returned to the camp after temporary evacuation.
DIVULJE, Aug 24 (Hina) - Reporting on bushfires on Sunday evening,
the National Firefighting Centre said that a fire which broke out on
Saturday afternoon in the area of Velika Duba and spread to the area
of Zivogosce - Blato and the Dole camp at Zivogosce near Makarska
was contained. Most tourists have returned to the camp after
temporary evacuation. #L#
The fire, which consumed over 40 hectares of pine forest and
underbrush, was fought by some 200 firefighters, who were assisted
by three firefighting planes and two air tractors.
A fire which broke out near Licki Osik in Lika-Senj County on August
14 has been contained but continues to be active in a mine-infested
area. So far about 1,200 hectares of grass and underbrush has
burned.
