VUKOVAR: VANDALS POUR PAINT OVER MEMORIAL BUST

VUKOVAR, Aug 10 (Hina) - Unidentified vandals on Saturday night poured paint over a bust in Vukovar erected in tribute of one of the commanders of Vukovar's defence in the 1991 Serbian aggression, Major General Blago Zadro. #L# The perpetrators also attempted to set fire to a Croatian flag hoisted near the bust, but it was only slightly burned. A police investigation is under way. Blago Zadro was killed in October 1991. He was posthumously promoted to the rank of major-general for his merits in the Homeland War. (hina) rml
