At the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the first organised
joining of volunteers from Istria in the national liberation
battle, held near Porec, the PM said some people had tried to abuse
and neglect the values of anti-fascism.
Racan said he believed Croatia had enough strength to make the
values of anti-fascist struggle permanent.
Speaking about progress the government has achieved so far, the PM
said the government fixed a poor economic situation, admitting,
however, that it failed to punish all those who used the
privatisation process to rob Croatia.
"Unfortunately that robbery was partially permitted and protected
by the law," said Racan and added that the government would continue
the struggle for a just Croatia and advocate that those who abused
the grave situation and gained a fortune at the expense of Croatian
citizens. He said it was extremely important to continue to build
Croatia and ensure prosperity to its citizens. "Croatia today is
one big European constructions site," the prime minister said.
