would be held on November 23. #L#
Racan spoke to reporters before a regular session of his Social
Democratic Party's Presidency.
Asked if the vote would be held on November 23 or 30, Racan said he
had been "repeating for months that parliamentary elections will be
held in the second half of November".
Although he did not mention the date, asked if citizens would go to
the polls on November 23, the PM said "that date is in the second
half of November".
He stressed the date depended on the time it was going to take
Croatia to finish answering a questionnaire recently delivered by
the European Commission.
Asked to comment on reports that Bosnia-Herzegovina's government
had granted a concession for the construction of a highway crossing
that country to the company Bosmal and not to Croatia, Racan said
that "if roads can be built without Croatia, then why not".
"What we had offered BH was based on principles of good neighbourly
cooperation, because the Vc corridor is important for both Croatia
and BH."
Racan said that in Europe, such projects relied on good preparation
and international tenders.
"I'd like to hope that BH has taken that path," he said, adding he
did not wish to comment on half-information coming from Sarajevo.
