"If there is something which characterises peoples, then it's the
national culture, i.e. heritage," said Tomcic.
"Sometimes they don't understand us and say we don't sufficiently
care for national minorities, but I think this revue will show the
opposite," he added.
This year's revue focuses on the heritage of ethnic communities
living in Croatia -- Albanians, Bosnian Muslims, Montenegrins,
Czech, Hungarians, Macedonians, Germans and Austrians, Roma,
Ruthenians and Ukrainians, Slovaks, Slovenes, Serbs, Italians, and
Jews.
Performers include nine folklore groups representing Croatian
regions, as well as groups from Bulgaria, Ghana, India, Italy,
Israel, Lithuania, Nigeria, Poland, and Spain.
