Nenad Milenkovic (age 25) has been arrested on the basis of the red
warrant issued by the Interpol during the Saber operation, launched
after the assassination of PM Djindjic on March 12, this year. The
warrant was issued because Milenkovic tried to avoid the final
verdict which sentenced him to two years in prison on the charges of
drug smuggling, suspicion of having committed a murder in Belgrade
and heroin smuggling on the route Sofia-Belgrade-Pozarevac.
According to the Bulgarian media, cited by Glas Javnosti, the
indictment against Milenkovic includes 20 killings, of which three
were committed in Sofia. He is also accused of cooperating with a
Bulgarian group of drug dealers, while on the record he was
conducting transfers of Serbian soccer players.
