BELGRADE, July 1 (Hina) - Serbia-Montenegro will not yet decide whether to sign a U.S. agreement on the non-extradition of U.S. citizens to the International Criminal Court even though the deadline for signing expires on Tuesday, President Svetozar Marovic told the Podgorica-based Vijesti daily, Belgrade's electronic media reported.
#L# The decision will be made by the country's Council of Ministers at its first session, at the suggestion of the foreign ministry, Marovic said. Defence Minister Boris Tadic said yesterday "neither decision can satisfy both the U.S. and the European Union," and that the "decision that will be made will be the least harmful for (Serbia- Montenegro)". In an interview with Blic daily of Tuesday, French Ambassador to Belgrade Gabriel Keler cautioned Serbia-Montenegro authorities a positive answer to the U.S. request could hardly be considered in harmony with the European spirit. Serbia-Montenegro has a good chance to show its commitment to Europe and the stances adopted at a recent European Union-Western Balkans summit in Greece, Keler said. (hina) ha sb
