This year, some 40 million kuna has been secured for the programme
and so far about 22.5 million has been spent.
It is expected that this year's programme will be implemented until
the autumn and that the number of employed veterans will reach some
1,900, the figure recorded last year.
The minister quoted statistics of the Employment Office which
reported that this June the number of veterans on the dole fell
below 30,000 for the first time in seven years. The headway made in
veterans' employment can also be ascribed to the government's
measures aimed at encouraging employers to hire veterans.
