ZAGREB, June 25 (Hina) - Croatian President Stjepan Mesic received a note from U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan on Wednesday on the occasion of Statehood Day, which Croatia is marking today, Mesic's office said in a
statement.

In the note, Annan says the international community must double its
efforts if future generations are to be left a world of choice and
not one of coercion. A lot more has to be done so that we may act in a
way that unites us and together fight against dangers and forces
whose aim is to divide mankind, he said.
It is valuable to know that the United Nations can count on
Croatia's commitment and support, the note said.
