THE HAGUE, June 16 (Hina) - A lawyer from Argentina, Luis Moreno Ocampo, on Monday took an oath as the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal (ICC) at The Hague.

Ocampo, on Monday took an oath as the Chief Prosecutor of the
International Criminal Tribunal (ICC) at The Hague. #L#
The fifty-year-old attorney, an expert in human rights, will be
responsible for the prosecution of those indicted for genocide,
crimes against humanity and war crimes committed anywhere in the
world.
Crimes committed after the Rome Statute became effective, namely
after 1 July 2002, are in the jurisdiction of this single
international permanent court.
