The four-day 25th conference of police officials, which focused on
crime prevention and police activities in the community, ended on
Friday. Participants discussed topics such as prevention of
juvenile delinquency, prostitution and other crimes in streets of
cities.
At a news conference at the end of this event, Zagreb Police Chief
Ivica Babic described the 25th conference of European capitals'
police superintendents as very useful and constructive as they
could exchange experience in the fight against crime.
The speech of the Czech participant drew special attention, as he
spoke about a successful project of video-control of streets in
Prague, which helped cut the street crime rate by 50 percent and
completely eliminated pick-pocketing, beggaring and prostitution
in main streets and squares of the Czech capital, Babic told the
news conference.
