John Paul II in Zadar, officials at the Interior Ministry stated.

Monday made an anonymous phone call to the Zadar police threatening
to kill President Stjepan Mesic and Prime Minister Ivica Racan
during today's meeting with Pope John Paul II in Zadar, officials at

The arrested man is from the area of Rijeka and during arrest the
police found on him the cell phone from which he called Zadar
police, ministry spokeswoman Zinka Bardic said. She did not reveal
the identity of the arrested man or the location where he was
found.
In a joint operation which lasted less than three hours, the police
and the Counter-Intelligence Service located the cell phone from
which death threats were made against the president and the prime
minister and discovered and arrested its owner.
The criminal act of threat which causes more intense anxiety among
citizens, which is what the police have estimated happened in this
case, is punished with prison sentences in the duration of three
months to up to three years.
